“Do Unto Others”

I just finished watching a podcast with Michael Hyatt (michaelhyatt.com), a social media guru and premier instructor on ways to assist other people with your internet services and/or product.  Although he was specifically giving a list of 10 ideas one can use to improve their social media presence, I was struck by the tone of the ideas: they all reflected attention to the needs of the other person.  In other words, as the Bible says, “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.”

Think about how good you feel when your grandchild runs up to hug you and/or says, “I love you grandma or grandpa”.  Or how good it feels when your neighbor brings you the newspaper that was dropped off at his door by mistake.  I believe the endorphins begin galloping through our bloodstream in orderly fashion and excite our whole being.  What would our world be like if we spend even 70% of our time living out that maxim?
