Octogenarians Rock!

We octogenarians are no longer considered dinosaurs.  We live vital, productive and happy lives.  A quick look at the famous among us that have reached that plateau of longevity reveals both on-going productivity and inventive minds at work.  For a brief peek at some, I submit the following names for your recognition:  Tony Bennett, Betty White, Barbara Walters, James Earl Jones, Clint Eastwood, Willie Nelson, Dalai Lama, Jerry Lee Lewis, Donald Sutherland, Woody Allen, Frank Robinson.  And one could go on with the likes of:  Jimmy Carter (91), Nancy Reagan (94), Jim Nabors, Doris Day (90’s), Angela Lansbury (90), and on and on.

Life may not begin at 80 but each of us takes this time of year to re-evaluate our lives and set our goals and plans for the next year.  Sit down with your grandparent and find out what they are planning for 2016.  You may be surprised to find out how their vitality and vivacity are still an active part of their lifestyle. Travel, sightseeing, new projects and activities, sports, reading and writing, music, games, and other bucket list items will make their appearance in the conversations.  Science and medicine have it made it possible for the longevity (you grandchildren will all live to be 100 on average) to open up a myriad of options for us to experience.  Join us in our adventures with your support and good wishes as we take off on another trip, lark or activity.
